If you want a book to positively change your life, read The Let Them Theory. I first came across Mel Robbins through Instagram. She would put up short videos on how to improve your life through simple steps that everyone could implement into their daily lives. In her videos, she would mention the phrase, “Let Them” all the time. She would follow up by explaining that that means you can only control yourself and your reaction to people and things in life. Let Them means to stop trying to control other people, period. She goes into great detail throughout the book, using typical situations in life we face, on how to use her theory of letting people choose the life they want as well as “Let Me” choose mine.

This book is an oldie, but goodie (originally published in 1986)! When I started the divorce process, I immediately went to therapy to help navigate all that comes along with divorce emotionally. The first session I had with my therapist she stated that I was codependent with my then husband. I thought she was absolutely out of her mind! However, while reading this book most of what was stated I completely resonated with and felt that the author was describing me. This book discusses losing one's self while caring for others, which is exactly what I did in my marriage. I highly recommend reading this classic to help you unfold many layers of yourself, truly help you heal and get back to caring for the most important person, YOU.

The Universe Has Your Back
Transform Fear to Faith

I could not put this book down! I read this beefy book in a weekend. This is one of the two books I’ve read from Gabrielle Bernstein and they are both equally fantastic. This book focuses on releasing past trauma and anxiety, along with many other topics. She discusses tools to help with anxiety and how to cope with trauma in a healthy and helpful way. In both her books that I’ve read, the author really hones in with a solution based mindset so we can focus on healing and living a happy life.

Just coming off a divorce, I realized I will be “getting back out there” and felt I needed a ‘refresher’ course on self love and some tips on dating in the world today. So, I stumbled across Love Life and just recently completed this amazing, very informative book on relationships and how to have a healthy one with a significant other, but, most importantly, with yourself. Matthew Hussey guides you through how to cultivate a loving, forgiving relationship with oneself, which in turn, permeates into every facet of your life, including romantic relationships.
*Also, there’s a workbook that goes along with the book!
